Spotlight on Laura Morett

Laura Morett Survivor Samoa
CBS Bio
Laura Morett is a 39-year-old Hawaiian mother, wife of 21 years and also a grandmother. Her beauty is complimented by the fact that one of her occupations is fitness instructor, which helps her stay in shape and gives her the energy to keep up with her three kids and two-year-old grandchild. When she is not spending time with her family, working out or riding her Harley, this conservative Christian is running the lobby message center at the Oregon State Capitol building for over 400 lobbyists.

Similar religious and political beliefs, as well as the fact that her daughter had a child at 18, has Laura referring to herself as a, “fit version of Sarah Palin.” Laura enjoys listening to Christian music and is studying women’s ministry. In addition, Laura counsels couples in her church based on her experiences in a long-lasting marriage with a man she describes as her other half.

Determined and competitive, she freely admits that she wants to win SURVIVOR for the money but in doing so claims that she would never do anything to compromise her faith to get it.

Currently, Laura resides in Salem, Ore. and her birthday is July 30th.

From Dallas TV Examiner comes this:

Name: Laura Morett
Age: 39
Location: Salem, Oregon
Occupation: Attorney
Tribe: Galu (purple buff)

Strengths: Laura may be one of the most determined castaways on "Survivor" this season. She has a desire to win, succeed, and show everyone exactly what she is made of. In her CBS interview she claims that she is capable of doing any of the physical competitions, and she could also be a good strategist in the right situation.

Weaknesses: Laura will face one major obstacle out in Samoa: herself. Laura admits to having a bad habit of telling people exactly what to do and when exactly to do it. Bossiness is typically met with great disdain in the "Survivor" game, and it will probably also be here. She also faces another major obstacle in being a person of strong Christian faith; if people feel like they are being preached to, then they will be more inclined to get rid of her.

Past "Survivor" comparison: Laura immediately screams Sylvia from "Survivor: Fiji," someone who was notorious for giving people orders and trying to take charge of every situation. She could also have a little Sue Hawk in her, as well, which has to be considered a good thing considering she is one of the show's most memorable characters. However, Laura's strong emphasis on Christianity and her family brings to mind Leslie from "Survivor: China."

L to R Leslie Neese Survivor China and Sylvia Kwon Survivor Fiji

Prediction: Like Leslie and Sylvia, it's likely that Laura won't last too long in the "Survivor" game. She will come out excited and ready to share her knowledge with the world, but doing so will cause her to overpower the opinions of some of her tribemates. She will likely not fit in with enough people on her tribe and could even be the first or second person voted out of Samoa. I don't see her making it to the merge, but Laura will work as hard as she can to stay alive.

My personal predictions on Laura is she will undeniably be a Fan Favorite. She is a very lovely lady whom I have spoken to a couple of times on Facebook and I am personally rooting her on but I am thinking she will possibly just make it as far as pre merge. I do like her a lot and will be rooting her on!
